A new excuse to smoke | Deccan Chronicle | 2010-11-22
Seems like the tobacco bars have paid the news paper to write this article! It is included in the section Glam sham!!Clever!! How conveniently it misses out on mentioning about nicotine, tobacco or addiction. Shamefully, they also mention about the rates... For all the work that we do in discouraging the youngsters from taking up to substance abuse and addiction..one such irresponsible article can undo all the efforts!!
Guys let us all write to the editor Deccan Chronicle... Lets point out the glaring mistake in publishing such irresponsible articles.. Go! Ayushmantra!
Yours Healthily,AYUSHMANTRA
It is unfortunate that such an irresponsible article has been published in Deccan Chronicle. It is necessary for all to understand the impact of such skewed presentation of information to the teenagers and youngsters. Hookah bars are known as gateways to further substance abuse and addictions. There is absolutely no regulation of the content smoked!! No verification of any kind whether they contain nicotine! Whatever the explanation about its so called benefits, it is common sense to understand that sitting in a room full of smoke and subjecting the lungs to smoke is harmful to health. While the article begins with saying that it is banned it mischievously misses out on the grave issue of addiction and instead advertises the hookah bars and even mentions their rates. This kind of irresponsible journalism is not expected from Deccan Chronicle. Sad!
